Orange County Song Critique Workshops

Songsalive! holds workshops where songwriters gather to share their songs, gain feedback and develop relationships within the songwriting communities we have created around the world. The first half is solely dedicated to an in-the-round workshop where writers present one song each - either on tape, CD or live - followed by a guest speaker/industry discussion in the second half and plenty of time to talk and network. Moderated by Rodney O'Riley

HOW TO REGISTER: Join our free MEETUP group for Los Angeles (see logo above or click here) and RSVP through the site. You will be automatically registered to attend unless contacted. We prefer pre-registrations.   

FIRST HALF SONG CRITIQUE - RULES & WHAT TO BRING: 1 song either on tape, CD or live (bring own guitar or keyboard) and 20 copies of your typed lyric sheet with contact details clearly displayed.

Orange County Showcases


 Stick your tongue out and taste the talent! Showcase your music and support our Songsalive! national and international live events and showcases presenting songwriters and artists of original music. Showcases are conducted globally. The Songsalive! Showcases are the best industry secret, a great happening all around the world. Songsalive! Showcases are a very cosy, intimate and acoustic environment where media and music industry representatives often drop by to check out the latest talent. Hosted by Frank Giampaolo.

Songwriters Live is a concert series hosted on the 4th Thursday of each month, which Songsalive! sponsors. Million selling hit writers & Grammy winners share the stage with the best undiscovered talent. The Gypsy Lounge is a 200 seat concert hall with a professional stage, PA, light, sound engineer...etc. The event is a wonderful networking opportunity for talented writers. Because of the show's intimate setting many undiscovered writers are now co-writing and/or working with mega hit writers. Songwriters Live is open to Songsalive! members at the discretion of the booker.

about our team

RODNEY O'RILEY

 

Marketing and Promotions Coordinator - Orange County Workshop Coordinator Oversees online and public event presence, company branding, conference promotions, advertising, grants and sponsorship. 

 

Rodney O'Riley is the writing and performing name of Rodney Dean Stansfield. RDS is a guitar salesperson by day, songwriter by night, and many other things in the hours in between. A native of Los Angeles, raised in his parents' native Vancouver, BC, and schooled all over the West Coast. Currently learning the fine art of bass playing, producing, and letting the computer take care of the hard parts. Active as an organizer in science fiction fandom, he also keeps himself busy as an activist for animal rights, gay/lesbian/bi rights, and anarchism. And, of course, for the continued viability of live music and the venues that support it. Rodney has been involved in many aspects of Songsalive! since 2002. In 2007, he was honored to assist with the creation of the new Songsalive! chapter in Orange County, California.
