We are always open to new chapters in areas untapped, where songwriters and composers can gather, share their songs and learn at our workshops and showcases. You get to be part of an international community of volunteers who are working hard to build a great songwriting industry – on a non-profit level (our organization is a non-profit 501 c.3) public charity organization. We are all volunteer songwriters so your contribution is invaluable. You may find that you have more ideas than what we provide here which is great!  We would like to expand our non-profit organization to many different cities and countries. The altruistic benefit for us is that we will know we have reached more songwriters and provided opportunities for support, promotion and exposure. In turn, we hope to generate more financial members. By you running a chapter in your area, we are able to assist and promote more songwriters and composers, as well create awareness for larger global issues. Want to start a Chapter or volunteer?

Songsalive! is looking for a volunteer WEBMASTER/WEB MANAGER to join the team.

We need someone who is a team player, an ideas person and creative, who is happy to contribute to our non-profit organization on a part-time voluntary basis, updating our website and our third party social network sites. Preferably based in or near Los Angeles. The job includes
- Re-defining, streamlining and maintaining our current website www.songsalive.org and its web content. Fresh ideas welcome, but simplicity is the key.
- Streamlining all our web content pages from various sites into one.
- Adding info from our coordinators regarding upcoming events on the Chapters pages, as well as our Calendars. (This includes not just designing, but being in touch with our team)
- Managing our blogs
- Adding info to the online members portal (a backstage area for members only) when needed and directed.
- Maintaining our main Myspace page as well as some regional Myspace pages when needed.
- Creating a photo center for chapters to post their photos from events.
- Maintaining our other 3rd party Songsalive! social networking sites to help spread the word and build membership
- Maintaining our link exchange program by accepting link requests, liaising with people who request links, and monitoring our software. Streamlining our whole resource center will be key.
- Answering correspondence from members and coordinators about our website and online presence
- Looking for ways to keep our online presence on 3rd party websites through link exchange programs.
- Maintaining our online discussion lists.

We are looking for someone who is very proficient with web design, web developing (front and back end), and community social network sites; who wants to volunteer and be part of a growing community; and who has great ideas and concepts on how we can develop our online presence to maximize opportunities and communication amongst our membership base. No short termers please.

Songsalive! is looking for a Membership Manager - part paid

Preferably someone who isn’t a songwriter, but who loves original music (though we will also consider a songwriter if you are a left brain thinker too).

- You need to be great at excel, the internet, online databases, and time management.
- You need to be willing to split your time communicating with our members, and doing basic database tasks.
- You need to want to be part of a growing non-profit 501 c)3) organization, and that means thinking outside the box, nurturing our songwriters community, and understanding committees.
- You need to be an awesome communicator, who speaks with caring and nurturing (just what our members need), but also savvy about the music business, songwriting resources and what Songsalive! is about.
- You need to be interested in a long term commitment.

This is a part-time (in your time) volunteer position at first, but as the job changes from being shared, to you handling it, there is definitely room for advancement with potential pay next year,as well as opportunities to travel, if it works out that you are the right person.
