If you cannot log in to our site and have been a member for a while, it is probably because you were a member of our old site. We upgraded to a new website and membership system on July 21, 2011. To get instructions on how to migrate over, click here.

If you are recent member since July 21, 2011, it may be that you need to reset your password. If you have forgotten your password, you can click on "Forgot Password" on the home page under Login area. Direct link.    Once you fill in the details it will send you an email with a new automated password to confirm, (please check your spam inbox as sometimes these auto emails end up there). And you can change that temporary password once you log in to your profile again.

For the Songsalive! Songshop Program - It depends. Mostly not. We don't take a fee, and we give you the direct contact. However, there is one Partner we work with called Film Music Network that charges a small fee to submit a song (under $5), but we have a special discount for our members which we provide with the post.

For the Get Promoted Program - The only cost is if you want a CD Review. As it takes time to do a review we have a charge for that for admin/time purposes ($30). But the rest is free. the Get Promoted program is not a right to Pro Members, it's a privilege if selected. CD reviews are guaranteed however, if paid for. But you don't need a CD review to be promoted in the program. (though encouraged).

Sometimes a Showcase asks for a door entry fee to cover the costs of the venue. Sometimes there is a discount for Pro Members, but not always. Check with the Chapters or Calendar for more details for particular events. (Workshops are free for Pro Members).
 

Q: I just opened an account on your website but I understand that first I have to pay $50 a year to be a Pro Member. So my question is- if I pay this $50 now, is it going to be valid for a year from today or only till the end of the year

Is Paypal the only method available to pay my annual dues?

Yes, at this stage, Paypal is the only way to pay for Pro Membership. You can set up a free Paypal account anytime at www.paypal.com (or it will prompt you through the Join process). Once you have a Paypal account, you can add either your bank account or a credit/debit card to your profile from which to draw funds from.

How much is Pro Membership and how do I renew?

The Cost for Pro Membership is $50 a year and is debited from your Paypal account when you sign up, and automatically debited yearly [as a renewal] (1 year from the date you join.) If you don't want it to be automatically debited each year you need to log into your Paypal account and find the "subscription" and cancel it. That way, our site won't trigger to auto-renew

What happens if I cancel my Pro Member subscription?

If you cancel your subscription, upon renewal date your Pro Membership will shift to Free level. You will lose access to Backstage and Pro Member benefits, but you won't lose your Profile and you can partake still in the Social Network.

What if i want to leave Songsalive! all together?

1. Cancel your subscription on Paypal as above (Pro Member)

2. Go to your Profile and "Delete Profile."

3. Email songsalivepr@gmail.com if you wish to be removed from our mailing lists.

Unlike our previous website, our server doesn't offer an automatic communication to go out to our members before membership is due. It is a feature we would like and we are waiting for this to come to fruition one day soon.

So, it's up to the member to manage your subscription through Paypal.

Sometimes we get an email from a member saying "I didn't authorize this automatic renewal". Well, you did, when first joining.

When you first joined we stated in the joining process that a Paypal subscription would be set up to automatically renew each year and that if you wanted to cancel future auto renewals you needed to log into your PayPal account to cancel the subscription. It's also on the join page clearly. http://www.songsalive.org/join.htm and you agree to our membership terms when joining, in the join process.

When you log into our website and go to your Profile, click on "Manage Subscription". Here too it says: "You can cancel your site subscription at anytime from your Paypal account. In Paypal locate the subscription for this site, then click on details and click the cancel button. This will stop all billing. "

I hope these address your membership renewal questions.

No limit - but you want to always be careful how many times you pitch to the same listing/post in the Songshop program. We ask that our members don't spam these important people with their music otherwise you won't get listened to, and we won't get any more leads to give you.

It doesn't matter where you live to participate in our worldwide programs, benefits and community. Here are just some of the opportunities we provide that are globally based:

• Our new social network experience: Now, with our new website, you can collaborate and interact with other members from all around the world, like a "Facebook for songwriters". Upload music, pictures, video and info to your profile; interact in our Community and post status on the home page and your profile. You'll be discovered in our Member Directory.

• Join a Group online or create your own: as a member you can join any group online created by Songsalive! or another member, and Pro Members can create their own groups and invite people to join. Go GROUPS.

• Groups page we have eNotes (our Yahoogroup) where you can receive opportunities via email to your inbox. eNotes (songwriting and music industry opportunities).

• Also on our Groups page is the SongCollab Group - where you can find collaborators and co-writers from different nations worldwide.

• Did you know that songs can be written over the internet? Set up a CHAT (under Community) with a fellow songwriter and share via text, talk or video!

• Participate in Songchat Discussions - chat with our songwriters, self-promote, or get a song critique by other members (want a professional critique? See Backstage below)

For PRO MEMBERS, our BACKSTAGE is filled with benefits for those who live far from one of our Chapters:
