Byron Bay Showcases and Workshops

Stick your tongue out and taste the talent! Showcase your music and support our Songsalive! national and international live events and showcases presenting songwriters and artists of original music. Songsalive! also connects you to shows presented by other organizations. Showcases are conducted globally. The Songsalive! Showcases are the best industry secret, a great happening all around the world. Songsalive! Showcases are a very cozy, intimate and acoustic environment where media and music industry representatives often drop by to check out the latest talent. Hosted by Melissa Mullins.

From January 2007, Songsalive! Byron Bay will be taking a break while coordinator Jo Young spends a year living in Ireland. Keep an eye on the site for news of Byron workshops resuming in 2008. Thanks to our sponsor, the Buddha Bar for hosting us in 2006.

JO YOUNG

Byron Bay NSW Australia Coordinator

Jo Young is a singer/songwriter from Lismore, near Byron Bay in northern NSW, Australia. Jo's music is probably best described as modern folk with a pop twist, and she also sings and plays keys and tin whistle with Celtic fusion band Tane. Jo juggles the busy tasks of raising a young family, running a part-time bookkeeping business and pursuing her love of songwriting and performing. Her first CD release "Angels in the Mud" received community radio airplay across Australia, with the track "Broken" receiving finalist nominations for both the UK songwriting competition and the Dolphin awards in 2005. more
